{"id":2204,"date":"2023-11-29T15:24:42","date_gmt":"2023-11-29T06:24:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bicr.atr.jp\/cbi\/?page_id=2204"},"modified":"2023-11-29T15:25:26","modified_gmt":"2023-11-29T06:25:26","slug":"bmi","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/bicr.atr.jp\/cbi\/research\/bmi\/?lang=en","title":{"rendered":"Brain-Machine Interface"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The brain-machine interface (BMI) is a system to control robots or computers using brain activities.<\/p>\n<p>We have attempted to construct a high-precision BMI by developing accurate brain imaging methods that integrate multimodal brain measurements, such as magnetoencephalography (MEG), functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI), electroencephalography (EEG), and near-infrared spectroscopy (NIRS).<\/p>\n<p>We have also developed a real-time system to analyze brain measurement data for BMI.<\/p>\n<p>We participated in a joint research project with Honda Research Institute Japan and Shimadzu Corporation, &#8220;Robot Manipulation by Brain Activity using EEG\/NIRS Simultaneous Measurement Data,&#8221; which was introduced by the press in March 2009.<\/p>\n<p>In our laboratory, we can use real-time systems for large measurement equipment, such as fMRI and MEG, and small and portable measurement equipment, such as EEG and NIRS.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The brain-machine interface (BMI) is a system to control robots or computers using brain activities.
