Personal information

I work as an STA fellow in Dr. Mitsuo Kawato's Dynamic Brain Project (located at ATR near Kyoto). My main research interests are in the areas of computer vision and intelligent robot systems. Currently I focus on human motion capture using standard video recordings, high-speed cameras or specialized optical tracking devices with the application to the trajectory planning for humanoid robots. This work is related to the CyberHuman project whose goal is to apply the results in motor control and perception to the creation of human-like agents. Other people currently involved with this project are Chris Atkeson, Frank Pollick, Marcia Riley and Darrin Bentivegna.

I'm also affiliated with the Department of Automatics, Biocybernetics and Robotics, Jozef Stefan Institute, Ljubljana, Slovenia.

I received my Ph.D. from the Department of Computer Science, University of Karlsruhe, Germany. While I was in Germany I worked at the Institute for Process Control and Robotics (IPR).
