Piloting a Drone using Multisensory and Neuroergonomic Feedback

Overview

Utilizing a 6 degrees-of-freedom motion platform and full field dome projection neuroergonomic parameters predicting such things as attention, alertness, fatigue, and performance are discerned by source localized cortical activity recorded by EEG. The video from the drone is projected to the dome and the accelerations to the motion platform. Pilots are given feedback in the form of spatial audio and visual displays as well as neuro-feedback via a brain-machine-interface to improve learning and performance on various piloting tasks. This research is also being extended to real gliders and planes.
