Neural Code Converter
A paper based on our work on a Neural Code Converter was recently published in NeuroImage.
There is also a GitHub repository set up related to this paper: https://github.com/ATR-DNI/NeuralCodeConverter

Young Investigator Award
Takafumi Yanigasawa, a member at our lab from Osaka University, won the Young Investigator Award at ICCN 2010 in Kobe.
“The Dream Recorder” – An Interview with Yukiyasu Kamitani
The head of our lab, Dr. Kamitani, has an interview in the latest issue of The New Tough – 「”The Dream Recorder,” The New Tough <http://thenewtough.com/> Issue 5, “Science”, Fall 2010」. Be careful, though, as a creative magazine, it may not be safe for work.
The Science of ‘Inception’
Forbes recently posted an article covering some of our recent research on brain activity in human dreams. You can read the article HERE.
Neuroimage Acceptance
Our paper, “Simultaneous recording of ECoG and intracortical neuronal activity using a flexible multichannel electrode-mesh in visual cortex,” was recently accepted to Neuroimage.
Brain Decoder Toolbox
We released our Brain Decoder Toolbox (BDTB), which is a set of Matlab functions to decode brain activity. We use it for our own research and we are making it publicly available in the hopes that other people may find it interesting.
Please look at our download page for the Brain Decoder Toolbox.
NIPS 2009 Paper
Our paper, Fujiwara Y., Miyawaki Y. and Kamitani Y. Estimating image bases for visual image reconstruction from human brain activity. Neural Information Processing Systems (NIPS) Conference (2009), was recently made available online, so please feel free to click on the link and go download it! Dr. Fujiwara is at the NIPS conference right now presenting our work, so if you are attending the conference, feel free to introduce yourself to him.
“Neural art appraisal of painter: Dali or Picasso?” News Coverage
There has been some news coverage about our recent publication, Yamamura H., Sawahata Y., Yamamoto M., and Kamitani Y. (2009). “Neural art appraisal of painter: Dali or Picasso?” Neuroreport 20, 1630-1633:
